My VOCATION as assistant plant engineer began in King, NC in 1981. I then traveled as a computer software consultant until I retired in 2022. We own my husband’s family’s fourth-generation farm. We are blessed.
My ADVOCATION is environmental justice. I helped organize Pope Francis’ climate crisis address to Congress in September 2015. Our rally motto was “Hear the cry of the poor, hear the cry of the Earth.” It is my core value why I am running for office.
I SERVED as a founding member on the Board of Directors at the Old North State Wine Growers USDA Cooperative for Economic Empowerment. We grew winegrapes on our farm in King and I was liaison between growers, GM, and the board while helping to manage our own 40-acre farm and the vineyard’s winegrapes which were sold to our cooperative winery with 2.5 million dollars in annual sales.
The REASON I tell you of these life choices to help explain my desire to lead our community toward prosperity and happiness. Our Piedmont area is stunningly beautiful and deserves our care and protection.
I’m READY TO SERVE and offer my experience to make lives better by listening and making it happen. It’s what I do. It gives me purpose. I have been given much and feel that much is expected. I’m grateful and want to serve.
